great russian bistro (stolovaya), always fresh russian food and every time i go they have different stuff, also a grocery store with all the russian products, so if you are from russia and miss some home food then check it out....1 star minus for barking workers (normal for russian service)

I think this is the best place to eat and enjoy Russian cuisine. Everything that I have tried so far was fresh and delicious. They always provide me and my friends with a great service.

Be aware of the towing around this shopping center, they got people around so the towing company can make their business there

Typically, every Russian culinary store in Miami doesn't pull its weight in terms of quality. But, Kalinka is consistently the freshest, most wonderful Russian Food store in Miami. It's so disappointing to read the rude comments about the staff. But, by the vulgarity of the comments, one can judge how much truth the comments hold. The staff is wonderful, friendly and lovely!!!! These girls serve food with love and the food always tastes better. I've yet to find a Russian place in which all the girls are smiling and offering tastings of everything. They have so much patience. I have called in many times and asked them to make tons of varenichki (dumplings with potatoes) and asked them to fry extra onions for toppings... Not only was this done right and with a smile, but, they were always so eager to assist and make special orders. They are the only ones who always have fresh food. Their salads are delicious. Get caviar here for the best prices. Their pickled veggies are great and so are their pastries and piroshki... Love this place, love the girls.

I absolutely love that place! Great home cooked russian food and the ladies are super nice. The selection of products may be not as great as the other stores but if you are going there for a meal it's fantastic. Always place to sit and enjoy your russian lunch. Oh, and they make awesome coffee as well.

Some authentic product from the motherland. The people working here are as rude as can be and not helpful in the slightest... At least to the gringos.

Ugh, my stomach still twisting just about the thought of this place. Food is disgusting, I think I've got stomach flue or some kind of shirt eating at that buffet

I was raised and grew up in Russia and i can say that this place is the only one that i can recommend. The borsch is a must get there, it reminds me of my grandmas borsch!! The staff is very nice, loved the dessert there too, the honey cake or how we say in Russia "medovik" is to die for and the sirniki are amazing too.

Amazing! Fresh and awesome! Have lunch there or try their cake or dessert selection. Just great! If you are in the mood for Russian, go here. Buy some pierogi and cook them in hot water at home. Staff are great.

Fabulous Russian place that welcomes Americans and Russians.Incredible traditional Russian food that is freshly made and heated. This restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating that is usually occupied by children, dates, and families. It's also a store that is located in the same area as the restaurant. It's cheap and yummy and you should definitely go here rather than Matreshka.

I bought two extra large Torcik Wedlowski wafers with peanut filling in dark chocolate ( Poland) to serve for dessert for guests. The expiration date for both was Aug.10, 2004. YES 11 years old. How embarrassed I was. I live to far to return them BEWARE and read the expiration dates of the shelf items!!!!

Lave the sirniki. However you have to come early as they are sold out by noon. Get them while they last!

I went to this place yesterday, but it was not the first or the last time. I always go to sit and eat, never used their deli or grocery side. This is one of those small spots where you could get some good food, dirt cheap without expecting to sit on a real restaurant table with a full service a la carte. The food is absolutely awesome, Home cooked food and with a lot of different varieties of meats, salads and sauces with very rich and bold flavors. I spent a total of 8 .50 dollars on a full plate of excellent food and a soda. Everywhere else you go in the area and most of miami you will get garbage for that money, and i really cant think of another place with this kind of variety and nutritious, non processed food in the area. The ladies that work there were always very nice with me. Russians can seem stuck up to some people but is just knowing how to approach them what makes the difference.

I didn't think this place was that bad, but I did think that my first impression wasn't as great here as it was in nearby GASTRONOM. However, I wouldn't mind coming back here to try out the deli and the prepared hot foods. They have a good variety of sausages too. For other stuff, I may just stick with the other mentioned locale.

This place didn't impress us as much. We didn't want to buy anything there nor tried any dished they cooked at the kitchen.

The most rude ppl behind the counter, horrible Soviet style customer service! I am Russian myself came there with my family for lunch. We got shouted at by the ugliest big fat blonde(aka swine) for my son leaving a piece of bread on the floor under his stroller(waited 30 min for a high chair which never came). Eat your cotlety yourself! My foot will never step there again! All their food is meat based processed stuff, not a healthy choice by all means. Dear fellow Russians living in Sunny Isles if you want a stress free dinner go somewhere else. Soviet prison camp era is over and you don't have to eat this sh$t anymore or get poured with a load of negativity. By the way the blonde swine had a black eye for a while, she probably deserved it!

I used to go to Kalinka almost on a daily basis a couple of years ago. People go there for Russian products and food. It's located in an uninviting strip mall in Sunny Isles and not really much of a restaurant, it's more like a grocery store and you could eat there if you're too hungry to make it home. I don't think that the counter girls have ever been deliberately rude, or nice for that matter. It never really bothered me either, I kind of felt bad that they had to spend all day in that tiny store behind the counter; so I sympathized. The food is good, but if you're a chocolate connoisseur they have great Russian chocolate they sell by pound, it's extremely rich. I really enjoyed an eggplant thing with bread crumbs and cheese. They have a wide variety of Russian foods and I wish I could suggest what you should eat there but frankly I can't spell or say anything they have and they don't always have the same things. If you'd like to try Russian food for cheap and don't mind less than friendly service, Kalinka would be a good choice.

Ok. So I'm pretty disappointed because, although the service left a lot to be desired the first time I went here, it was all out horrendous this time. I'll just make my own beet salad thanks. We drove 30 minutes to get here just for me to stand in front of the deli counter saying 'Excuse Me' 4 times to the lady that was standing behind it, blatantly ignoring me. I know she was ignoring me, because her husband (assuming the guy that works there is her husband) said something to her about me standing there and she simply glanced around and went back to her crossword puzzle. I get the whole 'I'm Russian and unfriendly' thing, but I'm there to buy something. If you don't like it here, go back to Russia and don't sit there insulting the people that frequent your business with your overly rude and obnoxious attitude.

I went here for lunch - They have a buffet of prepared foods for lunch. I had the stuffed pepper, seaweed salad, two chicken balls - everything tasted pretty good however - it was not worth the $13 i paid. Everyone in the place working, eating and shopping were Russian - so it seemed pretty authentic. I noticed when leaving that EVERYONE eating was having a soup - so next time that's what i am going to get. BTW - The sign outsides says Euro-Deli.

Very good fresh Russian food. I like how the majority of the reviewers say "rude staff".. clearly you have never been to Russia..this is NOT rude. I eat here often, and have never had a bad experience.

Try the chicken meatball soup! Its verrry NiicEe, I likeee! They have quite a bit of Russian products for being such a small place. The people who work here are surely the sweetest Russians in Miami! Usually Russians = Bad Service...they kinda throw your food at you and run off lilke they are too busy for you, but not here these girls are always nice and smiling and extremely helpful. One time I wanted to know what these white sticky looking things were but my husband had no idea how to say Marshmallow. Then out of no where this wonderful lady who worked there heard us and explained it to me. My husband quickly said eww it sux and asked me not to buy it, but I absolutely love Marshmallows and before I could say a word the lady told my husband something quickly in Russian and instantly he put them on the counter to buy them. Apparently, this older lady told him that Americans dont usually shop there and that I am his wife and to appease me! LoL I guess Russians believe in respecting their elders. I felt like I was at home with my grandparents. The hubby likes the food here very much especially this strange tongue salad thing. Anyhow, Cool feeling, cool experience and therefore I will shop here regularly!

First thing you need to know about Kalinka is that the food is going to be rich, but that's Russian food for you, you can't count that against this restaurant. Kalkina's cooks are great, but it's not the freshest thing you'll eat, they do leave the food out for a bit. Then again, it's part buffet. The thing you can count against Kalinka is how rude (or lazy) are the employees. And I don't know if they do it intentionally, but I want to believe it's just a relic of the Soviet culture: "you'll pretend to pay us, and we'll pretend to work." The restaurant itself is not much of a restaurant. It feels the grocery store owner decided to cook some food and put the tables for people to sit down. Though it does have a family atmosphere. I come back often mostly because of nostalgia (and lack of other authentic Russian restaurants in South FL), in small part for the food, but definitely not for the service.

Great beef stew. Everyone really friendly. Truly shows the local atmosphere. I will try some of the other dishes when I return.
